pedrogalego
A personal Google OAuth client for rclone
pedrogalego is an OAuth 2.0 client registered with Google by Pedro Galego, a freelance developer based in Porto, Portugal. The app authenticates the rclone command-line tool, and rclone-based applications, against Google Drive accounts owned solely by the developer.
The application exists for personal use only. It is not offered to other users, does not power a commercial product or service, and has no installations outside the developer's own devices.
What the app does
- Mounts Google Drive content — personal Drives and Shared Drives — as virtual filesystems on the developer's own computers
- Reads and writes files between Google Drive and local storage, on demand
- Caches file content locally to support real-time editing, offline access, and high-bandwidth media workflows
- Runs across the developer's own macOS, Windows, Android, and iOS devices
Why the app requests full Drive access
The app uses the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive scope. Full Drive access is required because the app's purpose is to provide unrestricted, rclone-based filesystem access to the developer's own Drive accounts — including the ability to read, write, and reorganise files that were not created by the app itself.
No data accessed by the app is transmitted to any third-party server, analytics provider, or remote cloud service. There is no backend infrastructure operated by the developer. All processing happens locally on the developer's own devices.
